"Smile" is the title of a song recorded by G-Unit. It was released in April 2004 as the fifth and final single from their debut album, Beg for Mercy.

Background[]

Lloyd Banks is the main artist on the song, with 50 Cent singing "Be the reason you smile" as a backing on the chorus. The song was released as promotion for Lloyd Banks's debut solo album, The Hunger for More two months before the album was released in June 2004. It was produced by NO I.D. and contains a sample of the Syreeta song "I Too Am Wanting".

It is similar in scope to 50 Cent's solo single "21 Questions", being a soft love song augmenting many hardcore rap tracks.

Music Video[]

In the music video, it goes through Lloyd Banks life from a child to an adult. It features Lloyd Banks's two brothers, who play him at different points in his life. Former G-Unit Records member Olivia is the adult girl featured in the video. The video was directed by Jessy Terrero.
